Where To Eat In Melbourne’s CBD

Melbourne is a place which is not choosy about the kinds of cuisines that it offers to the people who are in it. There are different restaurants all over the city, each of which are known for their different cuisines and the best part is, that at these places the food tastes like the original fare and not some cheap imitation. Again, this feature can be a godsend for folks who are visiting the city and staying in Melbourne serviced apartments, and would rather sample some good ol’ home fare rather than experimenting with unknown edibles. Thus the city is extremely cosmopolitan in its outlook and especially more so in relation to the different cuisines from across the world that it has to offer.

For those who love Italian cuisine, Cicciolina on Acland Street is the place to go to. The restaurant has delicious modern Italian food, and added to it, a lovely ambience and wonderful hospitality as well. Cicciolina is known for an exhaustive wine list too. Pellegrini’s is also a place for good Italian food as well as coffee. It is located on Bourke Street.  For all Asian food lovers, Akita on North Melbourne has one of the best Japanese menus in the city. For those who fancy Gay Paree, Paris-Go is the place to go to. Located on Rathdowne Street, this French restaurant is one of the best in the city. Another French joint would be Chez Olivier on Greville Street, Prahan, off Chapel Street. The service is very warm and hospitable. Also, the staff is all French speaking.   Arintji on Fed Square is a restaurant that offers a mix of different cuisines across the world. The food is well done and the place also has a rather eclectic menu to match.

Maha on Bond Street, which is right between Flinders Street and Flinders Lane, serves wonderful food, right from the Middle East. The place is known for a very good atmosphere, and the best part about it, is that it has a varied menu which includes a lot of choices for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. For Mexican foodies, Las Amates on Johnson Street, near the corner of Hoddle is a good option. Again, like Maha, this place has good vegetarian options as well.

The city of Melbourne is one of the biggest Greek cities in the world, in the sense that it is home to a very strong and pulsating Greek culture. Thus, Greek cuisine is also, understandably one of the best international cuisine options there. The Press Club is the best place for Greek food there. The place manages to combine both professional and personal elements to present a very good dining experience. For further gourmet food, Vue De Monde is a viable option as well. It is located on Little Collins Street. Also, for some cheap and yet delicious Indian ethnic food, there is always Gopal’s and also a place called Crossways. These places serve good vegetarian fare as well. Thus Melbourne has a little bit of the whole world in it.
